I would like to comment in regard to Dave Coronel’s letter in the Aug. 18 issue (“A Democratic anatomy lesson”):
My husband and I supported Obama in the 2008 election. I admit that we have been disappointed with some of his decisions, but not all of them. He has, in many ways, moved this country forward. We are both union members, and we would like to see more White House support for the middle class and labor.
It is very important that all Democrats, liberals, progressives, and independents put aside the fact that we haven’t gotten everything we hoped for and support Obama in 2012. There is a good possibility that we will have two Supreme Court judges retire in the next five years. It is essential that the new judges are nominated by a Democratic president. It is our only hope in overturning Citizens United (the Supreme Court ruling that states and corporations are people).
If you want your vote to count in future elections, please support Barack Obama in 2012.
