The Electoral College is bunk

Now for the second time since 2000 we are faced with an inept president-elect. Hillary Clinton is presently ahead in the popular vote as the absentee ballots are being counted, and she is expected to win the popular vote. I find it unacceptable that we end up with a president who didn’t receive the vote of the majority of U.S. voters. This is not democracy, which is defined as the rule of the majority.

The Electoral College is an antiquated voting system that is divisive because people justly feel that the people’s will has been thwarted when the candidate that receives a minority of all the votes cast, becomes president! There is no other country on the planet that uses an Electoral College system like we have. It’s unjust and wrong. And apparently it tips the balance toward Republicans, with the current political map, since it worked to their advantage in both the 2000 and 2016 elections.
