Don’t you just hate all the mail asking for contributions to save the world? I must get 40 pieces a week—maybe because I was not selective enough in my donations. I thought it was better to give a little to many organizations so they could swell their membership to appear advocating for a wider populace. But it is exhausting paperwork, especially as I have a very complicated last name that may be written in three different ways. Additionally, I have John Wayne’s first name—Marion—so if I am not a Ms., then I am a Mister, and soon I am getting triplicates for my name and duplicates for my handle. Yikes!
But all of this aside, I hope your readers will pay attention to SB560 to protect the California State Parks system. Or forget reading SB560; just send a donation and your written support to the California State Parks Foundation, PO Box 512240, Los Angeles, CA 90051. They are doing all the leg work.
Me? I am going through the pile of other donation requests that I set aside since early December 2010 and hope that I can figure them out. I have five piles: I, D, C, Ms., and Mr. Oh, later for this. It is a beautiful day in Paradise, and I’d rather take a walk along the ocean cliffs at Montaña de Oro, through our state park for which we have no entrance fee. What a privilege!
So show your gratitude, sign the petition by lending your support of SB560, send a contribution, and take a walk in the park.
