Supervisors and Christie should go

Cambria

I want to commend New Times and Andy Caldwell on his excellent commentary (“Remove Sarah Christie from the planning commission,” July 23). One has to wonder how long the supervisors of SLO County can leave their head in the sand about this issue. Not only is it unconscionable for Supervisor Patterson to continue to support Sarah Christie as an excellent choice with all the damaging information available but also what does this situation suggest about the rest of our board of supervisors?

As if the implied suggestion of questionable integrity for the rest of the board of supervisors might be a concern, the glossing over the most recent grand jury report, not disclosing it in its entirety, makes it clear there is a major cover-up going on here for the benefit of Ms. Christie and confirms the concern that integrity is seriously lacking with all of our supervisors.

It is well known that Sarah Christie has an environmental agenda, which of course is her personal choice but she has no right imposing her personal feelings and views as a planning commissioner and should therefore be removed immediately. The grand jury was very thorough and specific with their concern for the bias Sarah Christie has and its inappropriateness when evaluating issues that come before the planning commission. For the board of supervisors not to address it openly and honestly only leaves one with the simple fact that they are all of the same mindset and share similar agendas. This of course makes all of them inappropriate for the job they were elected to do.
