Israel passed the limits of acceptable behavior long ago in its treatment of the Palestinian people, but now it is inconceivable that the U.S. government can continue to sit by and condone the slaughter that is taking place in Gaza, making our own citizens complicit by providing the very weapons used to commit these crimes.
How is it possible that a people so hated, reviled, and demonized by Hitler’s Germany could turn on another group and exact on them the same hatred and cruelty? The Palestinians have had food and medical supplies cut off by the Israelis; they are starving and desperate. The United States cannot continue to support and subsidize a country that is terrorizing its poor neighbor (the neighbor whose land was taken in 1948 so that Israel could exist). What does that make us?
