Restaurants take more than food 

Give me a break! I’d say that Raymond David, the self-proclaimed “Estero Bay Gourmet,� is just plain lucky. Actually, Shawn may have a great menu with wonderful food, but he is certainly not a good communicator.

We recently arranged a dinner for 20 people at his establishment. We arrived ready to try this wonderful new addition to our little town. The only thing missing was Shawn. It seems that when he called back three days later he didn’t realize that we were actually going to be there. Of course, we had talked to him on the phone three times and gone by the restaurant in person to get a menu and arrange the details. We tried all afternoon the day of the dinner to contact him and left messages every time.

To me, that is no way to run a restaurant. I now know 20 Morro Bay residents, who may not be “gourmets� by Mr. David’s standards, who will not be going back.
