Learn from our history of violence 

“The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” We need the Second Amendment now more than ever. The government knows of the people’s discontent with the government. They have a contingency plan. As Mr. Kalkowski stated in a previous letter to the editor, “We can be assured that our military will not fire weapons against fellow Americans,” (“Not all arms are created equal,” Jan. 17), which is true. I believe our government is training foreign United Nations troops to fire on Americans and preparing for civil war, and the UN troops use automatic weapons, biochemical weapons, and other weapons of mass destruction.

I am not in fear of the gangs, home invasion, the mafia, and the horde of zombie attackers. I am in fear of our government. We the people need to be self reliant, because when you need a cop, they will not be there to protect you. When they take our guns, you will be dead. We will be slaves. Who will be the patriot with enough guts as our forefathers had to fire the first shot to be heard around the world?

Let’s face it; we are a violent people. Ever since the white man could sail the seas, the white man has pillaged and plundered. The Mayas, Incas, Africans, Jamaicans, and Hawaiians—we not only took their land and gold, we took their history, heritage, and way of life, instilling our “Christian” ways as Father Junipero Serra did with a sword in one hand and a cross in the other. The American Indian we lied to, stole from, and gave blankets filled with chicken pox. We all are violent. Just take away a cub from its mother. Educate yourself and take a look at history.

The Bill of Rights, the Constitution, and the Ten Commandments, are all sacred documents. We don’t change the Ten Commandments. So why do we change the Constitution and its amendments? All sacred documents that we all need to live by should not be changed for our own personal gain as we the people let them do in Washington.
