The architect’s perspective cover story in the March 24 New Times (“Improvisational architecture”) was a tsunami all right—a tsunami of word vomit about nothing without a single fact checked or verified.

Sweet “perspective”—the only perspective shared was how to obliterate facts on local material sourcing, what makes a project sustainable (besides just saying it’s highly sustainable), and how George thinks architects get lumped in with doctors and lawyers. A devastatingly long article about a man’s ego without a single interesting perspective on architecture, design, music, or sustainability. How do you spend that many words on the most boring story of the decade? Stick to the photos, Steve.

You packed so much crap into three pages using micro print that the article is barely legible online with full zoom.

The “MIX” is a development by George Garcia, he’s the owner and the architect, and what makes his project sustainable? That he bought wood from a lumber yard in San Luis Obispo? Really, George? I guess every project is now “highly sustainable.”
