End the war, not just the surge 

It is indeed progress that U.S. troops are being moved out of Afghanistan; it is at a glacial pace.

We have been there for nine years, the longest war in our history. There are now 250,000 foreign troops there, 100,000 U.S. troops, 50,000 NATO troops, and 100,000 Pentagon paid contractors. We must never again approach this huge number. We must never again sacrifice the lives of so many of our American men and women.

We must begin a ceasefire now and immediately remove all of our military forces.
