A meaningful impact

As the school year wraps up, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all who made the 2016-17 Big Brothers Big Sisters school-based program impactful. Thanks to generous funding from the Harold J. Miossi Charitable Trust, Robert H. Janssen Foundation, Central Coast Funds for Children, and many private donors, about 200 high school and elementary students participated in meaningful, monitored mentoring relationships.

As a result of continued support from the Del Mar, Sinsheimer, and Nipomo elementary school communities, the program is accessible and effective for their students. I am grateful for the time freely given by each of our high school student mentors from Nipomo, San Luis Obispo, and Morro Bay high schools. With each mentor relationship, two youth are served, resulting in higher aspirations, greater confidence, better relationships, avoidance of risky behaviors, and educational success for those involved.

Thank you!
