Rudy Giuliani is still in the lead. On Oct. 11, New Times consulted with the Federal Election Commission to report donations made by locals to national presidential candidates as of June 2007. The September figures have arrived, and the up-to-date information reveals that Republican Giuliani stayed in the top spot with a total of $74,550, a jump of almost $22,000. Democrat Barack Obama broke the Republican hold on the top four slots to edge into second place with $56,187.
Democrat Hillary Clinton, who would have sat at the bottom of the June list if not for fellow Democrat Dennis Kucinich, now sits behind Democrat John Edwards in middle of the pack.
