Strip-o-gram robbers 

If your doorbell rings and there is someone outside who claims to be a stripper delivering a promising telegram, you might think twice before answering it. Just ask John Skinner, a 54-year-old Atascadero resident who lives in an apartment at 10710 El Camino Real.

 On the night of January 23 around 6:30, according to police, he opened his door, and in barged not a strip-o-gram but a woman and a man who then allegedly stabbed him with a knife, beat him up, and ransacked his home. Police say Maureen Murphy, 25, and Richard Adam, 23, were looking for money they claimed Skinner owed to one Leslie Talbert, 20 for prostitution.

 Skinner was held captive for nearly two hours until the pair left with some miscellaneous items and he was able to call police. He was treated at a local hospital for injuries and released.

 Murphy and Adam were arrested and face charges of robbery, burglary, false imprisonment, and battery with serious bodily harm.
 Even though Talbert was not present during the alleged robbery, the SLO County District Attorney’s office has filed charges of robbery, burglary, and conspiracy against her.

 The trio, allegedly entrenched in the adult entertainment business, is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing March 9.
