New Times: What do you sell?
O’Keefe: Electric scooters are our biggest sellers. Scooters, cars, trucks, and electric bikes. We sold two trucks yesterday, including our demo.
New Times: How’s business these days?
O’Keefe: Picked up really good. Thank you Exxon, thank you Shell!
New Times: So gas prices have had an impact?
O’Keefe: People for the most part, if it makes their wallet feel good and also makes them feel good, that makes it even better.
New Times: Is this a rush?
O’Keefe: We became eGo’s No. 1 dealer in California two months ago and if we’re not the No. 1 dealer in the country now, we’re probably really close. They’re very, very happy with us.
New Times: What does it say about SLO?
O’Keefe: The eGo is the perfect vehicle for us. It’s great in a bike lane; it’s an environmental community and there’s perfect weather for this. So it ties in all the way around.
New Times: What’s coming up ?
O’Keefe: Hopefully, bigger, better, faster cars and trucks and an electric motorcycle. I want to get one and trade in my gas burner.
