Easter is almost here, and this elegant bubbly made from white wines is sure to impress at brunch or dinner. A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc grown in the estate vineyard, it’s beautifully balanced and elegant. I loved its tasty ripe apple notes that meld an array of citrus aromas and flavors with highlights of floral notes. The yeasty nuances are reminiscent of Champagne. Winemaker Dave Hickey, who’s been at this winery since it opened in 1981, is a lot like the wines he makes: He keeps getting better with age. Talk about value-priced—it’s only $28 ($22.40 for club members) retail at the tasting room, and it’s widely available in local shops.
