Devin is this winery’s homage to white Bordeaux. A blend of 60 percent Sauvignon Blanc and 40 percent Semillon, it’s partly aged in new oak but it doesn’t overwhelm the bright fruit. It’s a pretty wine with forward fruit flavors of ripe pear and melon, and notes of minerals, lemon, grapefruit, and honey round it out quite nicely. Winemaker Karen Steinwachs recommends pairing it with chicken and artichokes in a light cream sauce over linguini. It would also pair quite nicely with halibut in beurre blanc, or roasted poultry. Available at the tasting room on Alamo Pintado Road, it’s a good value at $24. Just released, it’s a great choice for holiday meals or as a hostess gift.
