Cal Poly hosts two exhibits about multicultural identity 

Cal Poly is hosting two exhibits centered on multicultural identities: I Am Cal Poly and kip fulbeck: part asian, 100% hapa. Both aim to engage the campus in a hearty, in-depth conversation about what it means to be multiracial and more. Accompanying these two exhibits, Kip Fulbeck will be speaking during the opening reception.

Fulbeck is a polished photographer, spoken word performer, and filmmaker, as well as the director of a dozen short films including Banana Split and Lilo & Me. He’s written several books including Mixed: Portraits of Multiracial Kids; Part Asian, 100% Hapa; and Permanence: Tattoo Portraits. Fulbeck teaches as a Professor of Art at UC Santa Barbara, where he received the university’s distinguished teaching award and has been named an outstanding faculty member five times in recognition for his work promoting multiracial awareness.

The event will be held on May 8, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Café Lounge on the second floor of the Robert E. Kennedy Library.
