RACE UNITY WALK celebrates the diversity of people in our community. The walk begins at 8 a.m. June 11 at the Nine Oaks Bahai Institute in Arroyo Grande and travels to SLO. The Race Unity Celebration is at 5 p.m. at Santa Rosa Park. The walk continues June 12 and moves to Atascadero. Another celebration is at 5 p.m. at the Atascadero Lake Park. The walk continues June 13 when walkers leave Atascadero's Sunken Gardens at 8 a.m. and arrive for a celebration at 2 p.m. at the gazebo in Downtown City Park, Paso Robles. MARKING A MILESTONE is an open house honoring Carol Dawn for her 20 years of practicing healing arts. The event is June 12, noon-4 p.m., at 1171 Toro St., SLO. Includes free demonstrations, anti-oxidant testing, massage therapy, food, door prizes, and more.

4-H FIELD DAY AND CHICKEN BARBECUE is presented June 12 at the Mid-State Fairgrounds in Paso Robles. The event begins at 8 a.m. and includes livestock exhibits, arts and crafts, a dog care and training show, food, and more. Info: 781-5943.

SANDFEST AND OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE SHOW includes lots of off-road vehicles, demonstrations of precision off-raid driving by Gold Coast 4x4s, music, and more June 12 at the corner of W. DISCOVER THE RANCHO offers tours of the Dana Adobe, food, entertainment, activities for kids, and more at the 5th annual Rancho Nipomo Heritage Day June 12, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Historic Dana Adobe, 671 S.
