Weekly Poll
Should Cal Poly sacrifice its productive agricultural land to expand its campus?

Yes, we must create the space to educate and house our growing college-age population.
I'd rather see the students stay on campus then be able to buy avocados and oranges.
Can't they just relocate the trees to another area?
So much for 'learn by doing.'

TRAGEDY

A small, twin-engine plane crashed near the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport, just feet away from a building housing Promega Biosciences, a biomedical lab, prompting evacuations of the block on South Higuera Street. Cal Fire confirmed that one person—the pilot—died in the accident, though officials hadn’t released the identity as of press time. Initial reports indicate the plane didn’t directly strike the Promega Biosciences building, but rather hit a parked FedEx truck. However, a New Times reporter on the scene described what appeared to be minor indications of impact to the side of the building. No other injuries were reported.
