Weekly Poll
How much do you think large monetary contributions to campaigns can sway elected officials?

The jail was awfully busy on New Year's Eve

By NICK POWELL

Dozens of people in San Luis Obispo County welcomed 2013 from the cold concrete floors of jail cells and drunk-tanks. For a comparison, there were just seven bookings during the same time period on the night of Dec. 17 and the following morning, the last non-holiday Monday/Tuesday.
