Look for a Los Osos CSD shake up

Expect an announcement over the weekend regarding Los Osos Community Services District General Manager Dan Gilmore.

According to district officials, local media should watch for a prepared statement pertaining to Gilmore’s position. It’s expected Gilmore will announce his resignation from the CSD, though district officials declined to comment on the specifics of the scheduled press release.

Gilmore was approved to serve as the new district general manager in November 2009. He oversees daily operations of the district, and manages the budget of the organization, which handle utilities for customers in the unincorporated coastal town.

The CSD remains in the middle of court bankruptcy proceedings and multiple lawsuits stemming from the Los Osos wastewater project, which transferred to San Luis Obispo County officials in 2007. Plans to build the $189 million sewer are moving forward under the authority of the county’s Public Works Department.

If Gilmore does, in fact, resign, his move would mark the second departure of a key district official in less than a year. Former CSD vice president Maria Kelly resigned from the district June 16, citing family issues.

The general manager makes a salary of $90,000, according to the district’s 2011-12 budget.
