County to settle sex suit

Kylie Mendonca

The county has tentatively agreed to settle the lawsuit in which a local woman claimed she was repeatedly sexually harassed, propositioned, and even threatened by a county employee.

According to court documents filed in September, a woman was coerced into engaging in sexual acts with a county social worker, Anthony L’Esperance, after he threatened to take away her children.

Assistant County Counsel Warren Jensen confirmed that the County was looking to settle, but could not give any details on the amount or conditions of that settlement. He did say the he expected a report to be completed and presented at an upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting.
