What's your favorite setting to see a movie?

In a good ol' fashion theater. There's just something about watching the big screen with a bunch of strangers.
The drive-in, if there's still one around. It's more cozy.
I like to rent and watch them at home. You never know what you'll dig up at the video store.
Who pays for movies anymore? Free download, couch, cheap popcorn.

Enjoy the rate increase, you silent citizens

San Luis Obispo

By Terry Mohan

The city of San Luis Obispo distributed to its utility account holders, with their last bills, the biennial rate increase demand and the coinciding meeting for public comment and the futile Proposition 218 protest. Will this be the increase in the development financing scheme that will finally raise the anger of the citizens to act? Or will they sheepishly continue to pay what this time will amount to an increase in water rates since 2004 of 286 percent? Like the Iraqi invasion, the facts disputing the need for the Nacimiento Pipeline for San Luis Obispo were available, but citizens chose to listen to dishonest leaders and are now full of regret.
Gauging the lack of reported objections in the media, I will assume that an initiative—the only true way for all actual water and sewer rate payers to vote—will not be forthcoming. For this, the out-of-town developers who get water rate credits to build in the city will be grateful.
As I prepare for retirement, I will continue to downsize my personal use, limit planting in my yard, and recycle so as to leave the bulk of support of the utility’s bureaucracy to students and those with families.
Good luck.
