Everyone deserves health care

Paso Robles

Ron Lapp, M.D.

History will be made if Governor Schwarzenegger signs The California Universal Health Care Act, Senate Bill 840 (Kuehl). This bill provides for a not-for-profit, single-payer health insurance plan similar to Medicare, which will cover all Californians. Hopefully, our governor will have the courage to stand up to the insurance industry and guarantee that all Californians will have access to health care as a human right.

No co-pay and no deductibles are features of SB 840, which would allow you to choose your own doctors and other providers. Administration of the California Healthcare System would be capped at 5 percent of all associated funds. The money saved by eliminating insurance company costs and profits, combined with other savings, will assure adequate funding to cover all Californians with no additional cost to the state. See healthcareforall.org for more information.
