The Walmart Four are just stallingCrestonAnthony J. FalconeI’m writing in response to the Jerry James cartoon in New Times that shows the four Save Atascadero members being charged by tanks (Sept. 20). I feel that there needs to be a change made to it. There should be strings attached to these four characters, as they are merely puppets being puppeteered by temper-tantrum “adults” who can’t get over the fact that more than 70 percent of Atascadero residents want a Walmart, as well as the unions who can afford the attorney who charges $350 an hour. The lawsuit is just a tactic to stall the project long enough for Walmart and its supporters to give up. Newsflash to the puppeteers: We will not give up. And people should not be fooled by this cartoon; the Walmart Four are not the victims here. They are willingly OK with stalling the Walmart project at any cost and as much of your tax dollars as it takes. |
