What's your strategy for finding a parking space in Downtown SLO?

Patience, patience, and if all else fails, the parking garage.
I know all the great spots, but I ain't telling.
Nowadays I usually shop elsewhere, and only go into the thick of it if I really, really need to.
I just steal the spots that say RESERVED, because, like, I'm going to be super quick so those rules don't apply to me, right?

Has Oceano gone crazy?

By Terry Sweetland - Oceano

Am I going crazy, or is the government just out of control? The Oceano Community Services District just hired Paavo Ogren, who just left the County Department of Public Works. This is the same Paavo Ogren who was in charge when Oceano was flooded a few years ago. The same Paavo who ignored calls days before the flooding that the lagoon was filling up. Then, on top of that, the position he is taking was paying $87,000 a year, but he is getting $200,000 a year. What’s wrong with this picture? Are we such a wealthy community that we can afford to spend money like this? Oh, I forgot—it’s not their money they are spending, so it’s OK.
