The Food Bank solicits, warehouses, and distributes large-scale food donations to more than 225 non-profit agency partners and directly through our food assistance programs. The Food Bank can also help you find a drop site if you are looking to make an individual donation. Volunteer opportunities are also available.

WOODS HUMANE SOCIETY
(Woods opens Mon. through Sat. at 10 a.m.)
Woods Humane Society protects and shelters homeless companion animals, places animals into humane environments, promotes responsible pet ownership, provides humane education, and reduces animal overpopulation. They have beautiful animals up for adoption, camps for kids, fund-raising events, volunteer opportunities, and educational programs for the community. For more info on the various services Woods offers and a full calendar of events, contact the society. Their Quicky car wash fundraiser runs May 1-31.

THE DUNES CENTER

The Dunes Center is looking for individuals who would like to make a difference in their community by sharing information about nature. If you are interested in leading groups of students or adults through our local dunes with the Dunes Center, then come join us to learn how. The Dunes Center is holding a training day for all current and prospective docents. Ideal docent candidates will have a desire to share our wonderful natural and cultural heritage with visitors and encourage community stewardship of the dunes.
