February 2 The San Luis Obispo County Genealogy Society will host an all-day seminar on Feb. 2, at the IOOF Hall from 8:30am-3:30pm. Accredited Genealogist, Apryl Cox will conduct four sessions showing how to identify ancestors when no "smoking gun" or direct evidence records exist. There is no advanced registration. Cost is $20 at the door

February 2 (8pm) On Feb. 2 at 8 pm, Maestro Nowak has an amazing evening with the San Luis Obispo Symphony planned for Classics III: “Scheherazade.” The Symphony will present 1,001 Arabian Nights set to music in Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s colorful and exotic “Scheherazade." Mozart’s “Great G minor Symphony” will round out this romantic night of classics with the Central Coast's favorite Symphony orchestra. A No Ties Allowed free dress rehearsal is open to the public, including young children, at 1 pm.

There will be 2 performances: one at 11am and the other at 1pm. Birdie is "Music For The Kid In Everyone" and was created by Teresa Gasca-Burk and Gary Burk. Their latest CD, "The Kitchen Pan Band" was recorded and co-produced with Terry Lawless of Santa Maria who is currently on the road with PINK! and also tours with U2.

Special Events February 2 (9-10am) It's time to celebrate International Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, so put on your pajamas and head on over to Doc Burnstein's Ice Cream Lab. On Feb. 2 Doc's will be handing out free scoops of delicious Maple Bacon ice cream made exclusively in Doc's lab. Ice cream will be served from 9-10am at both Doc's locations, Arroyo Grande Parlor, 114 W. Branch St., and Old Town Orcutt, 168 E. Clark Ave. Make sure to come early at either location to save your spot.

This will be an environmentally friendly potluck. So we ask you to bring a favorite dish and your own eating utensils.
