November 3 (9:00 a.m.) The Women’s Club of Arroyo Grande is hosting its Annual Artisan Fair on November 3, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This free event takes place at 211 Vernon Street at the Arroyo Grande Community Center and Women’s Club. Lunch and snacks are available for purchase to enjoy while you shop and browse. Proceeds benefit youth scholarships and local charities. Indoor event so come rain or shine!

November 3 (9:00 am to 2:00 p.m.) Nov.3 Several hundred plant varieties for the garden will be available. Friendly experts will identify ideal native plants for all garden situations, and give native gardening tips. Explore the variety of natives available. Many are excellent plants for attracting birds and butterflies to your garden. Since native plants are adapted to this area, growing them in gardens saves large amounts of water, and reduces the need for pesticides and fertilizers.

November 3 (10 am - 3 pm) "Learn to Play Guitar in a Day!" is a 1 day workshop for busy adults who would like to play guitar but just don't have time for weekly lessons. Students will learn basic chords, simple strumming and picking patterns, play familiar songs, tuning techniques, guitar care, music theory, music resources and more. Students provide their own acoustic guitar. There is a $30 materials fee for the “Learn to Play Guitar in a Day!" book and Snark tuner. Saturday, 11/3, 10 am - 3 pm.

November 3 (7:30 p.m.) "Weaving Women's Voices" is a joint concert by Canzona Women's Ensemble of SLO and Soli Deo Gloria of Fresno (prize winners in the 2011 California International Choral Festival). The ensembles will blend their voices in sacred and secular music by Verdi, and will sing a variety of music separately and together. The concert takes place Sat., Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in San Luis Obispo. Also featured on the program are Russian, Israeli and Czech folk songs.
