IGGPRA OFFERS SEMINAR ON BEDDING DOWN FOR THE WINTER
Classes November 16 (1-4pm) The public is invited to join the Independent Grape Growers of the Paso Robles Area (IGGPRA) for a seminar on bedding down for the winter. The seminar will be held from 1-4pm on Nov. 16 at the J. Lohr Wine Center. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from three speakers, the first being Keith Backman, CPH, CCA of De La Valle Labs. Keith will speak about his lab, their sampling process, and how proper and timely sampling during the season enables accurate nutrient and soil additions which will lead to a healthier vineyard. The second speaker will be Laura Hebert from the San Luis Obispo County Department of Pesticide Regulation talking about the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including the manufacturers label requirements and how it differs from the requirements of Worker Protection Standard (WPS) regulations. The third speaker will be Chris Browning from Buttonwillow Warehouse who will be talk about herbicides for the dormant months and properly timing applications. The seminar will be free for IGGPRA members and $20 for non-members and includes complimentary snacks, J. Lohr wine tasting after the seminar, and 2 hours of Continuing Education credit.
