Corners of the Mouth is a monthly poetry reading series held on the third Sunday of each month at Linnaea's Cafe since 1984. Oct. 21 will feature poets Albert Flynn DeSilver and Linda Camplese. There is an open reading to follow.

Therapeutic Yoga for Low Back Pain Workshop with Mary Sage Sennewald

If someone's back goes "out", they often don't know how long the pain will last, and worse, what to do to take care of it. In this workshop you will learn tools and techniques to use during a low back crisis and preventative exercises to keep it from happening again. You will learn: Therapeutic yoga postures for everyday practice. Gentle movements to mobilize a low back that is "out". Guidelines that encourage you to move safely and with mindfulness. Central Coast native Luci Jackson recently suffered a stroke that left the entire left-side of her body paralyzed. This event will help cover some of the costs of her medical expenses. The 90-Minute dance party will feature six instructors from Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo Counties, a Tiki Bar, snacks, and and raffle prizes too!
