Every year the symphony holds auditions for student soloists from any major. Come hear this year’s winners, and celebrate musical talent from across the university. In this year of crossing boundaries, the program will also explore the connection of music and dance in collaboration with Orchesis, Cal Poly’s oldest concert dance organization. Orchesis directors Diana Stanton and Michelle Walter will create original choreography to interpret music intended for (or evocative of) dance. March 9.

Shades of Green is the title for the new show opening at the Art Center Morro Bay on Thursday, February 21 and running through Monday, April 1. Featured artists Diane Henderson and Ray Atzet present acrylic and watercolor paintings around a theme. A reception for the artists that is open to the public will take place Sunday, February 24 from 2 to 4 PM. Art Center Morro Bay is at 835 Main Street in Morro Bay. For more information call 772-2504.
