February 9 (6:30pm) Burning James and the Funky Flames are co-sponsoring along with Bon Temps Creole Cafe in association with the Noor Foundation, SLO Blues Society, and the SLO Jazz Festival. A Night in New Orleans Masquerade Ball on Feb. 9 in the historic San Luis Obispo Masonic Lodge. Proceeds benefit the Noor Foundation. This is gonna be a stone cold Gumbo Ya Ya. If the great music and food and the NOLA spirit isn't enough of a draw, the beautiul 100-year-old Masonic Lodge building just might be.

February 9 (3pm) Come Feb. 9 to the parking lot in front of Volumes of Pleasure while we usher in the year of The Snake. Astrology is a part of all cultures. Just as most of us know our sign in Western Astrology, most people in Asian cultures know their animal sign. The Cal Poly Lion Dance Team will perform a blessing for our community and for Volumes of Pleasure, a ritual that dates back centuries. In times past the dance was used to scare away monsters and evil spirits.

February 9 (6PM-8:30PM) The City of Pismo Beach, Recreation Division is now accepting registrations for the annual Father-Daughter Dance. This dance is for young ladies ages three to eighteen years old, and the special man in her life. The event takes place on Saturday February 9th from 6pm-8:30pm at the Pismo Beach Veterans Hall. Pre-registration is required by January 31st, 2013 for this enjoyable evening. This event sells out each year, so be sure to register early!
