The San Luis Obispo Farmers Market takes place every Thursday from 6-9pm on Higuera St. between Osos and Nipomo and includes over 120 vendors of produce, dairy, barbecue, flowers, and more.

Openings and Receptions
Dec. 2, runs through Jan. 28. Exhibition of handmade books by artists and community members. Books are created using a variety of conceptual forms and materials. Plus wearable art and peace-themed crafts made from recycled materials.

Animals of the Central Coast

Educators from the Lopez Lake DEER (Discovering the Environment through Education and Recreation) program introduce local wild animals. Jan. 7.
After school pottery classes
Create and Learn
through March 7. After school pottery is a place where kids have the freedom to create with clay using the wheel, sculpting, and handbuilding.
Cost: $30 per class
ESCONDIDO SPUR LOOKOUT HIKE
January 7 (Noon-2pm)
Jan. 7. Take an invigorating hike that boasts of beautiful views of the lake and surrounding hillsides. The hike is strenuous, bring water, and wear sturdy shoes. Meet at Arboleda group day use area. Rain cancels event.
Cost: Park day use fee $10 per vehicle

SWAP ELFIN FOREST WORK PARTY

Jan. 7 and 8. Join SWAP volunteers to help with weeding, erosion control and other tasks in the Elfin Forest. Wear sturdy shoes, long pants and sleeves. Bring work gloves and a shovel. Avoid mail boxes when parking. Significant rain cancels event.
