Public meeting on proposed power plant in Cuyama
January 28 (5:30 pm)

Residents are invited to learn about the county’s first proposed utility-scale solar (40 MW) power plant proposed for Cuyama. It could produce enough electricity for 13,000 homes and would displace 25,000 metric tons of greenhouse gases each year. It would occupy 327 acres of actively cultivated, irrigated land, 167 of which may need to be removed from the Williamson Act ag preserve.
