4TH OF JULY SAND SCULPTURE CONTEST AND FIREWORKS come to downtown Cayucos. A parade through downtown starts at 10am on South Ocean Ave. fireworks start at dusk, a sand sculpture contest from 5am-10pm in Downtown Cayucos, near the pier. Info: 995-1200 or cayucoschamber.com.

4TH OF JULY AT MERIDIAN WINERY invites guests to dance the night away while they listen to live music by the Sugar Daddy Swing Kings. Bring low-back lawn chairs and blankets and settle in for a fireworks display over the vineyards. Picnic dinners, ice cream, and wine will be available for purchase. FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION AT BARNEY SCHWARTZ PARK IN PASO ROBLES Free, fun event with a Bottoms and Bonnets contest hosted by KJUG 98.1 FM, where the cutest costumed kids will be eligible to win great prizes. Theme is “History of Country” and participants can dress as a character from the history of the United States or the history of country music. Starts at 7pm and pre-registration is recommended. MEATLESS BARBECUE ON JULY 4 IN MORRO BAY Foodies, animal-lovers, and barbecue aficionados gather at Morro Bay’s City Park at 4pm with a laser light show later that evening.
