The Peking Acrobats come to Arroyo Grande's Clark Center

Some years ago—never mind how long precisely—having little or no money in my purse, I once attempted to balance myself atop four precariously placed footstools. The result? A broken toe that took two months to heal and a deep shame that took much more than two months to heal. Maybe I should leave the stunts up to the professionals, like the Peking Acrobats, who are coming to the Clark Center in Arroyo Grande on Jan. 9.

In 1986, the Peking Acrobats made their debut in the United States and since then, they’ve become renowned for their daring stunts and spectacular skill. You name it, and they do it: gymnastics, somersaults, human balancing, chair acrobatics, plate spinning, and contortion. Their shows are often accompanied by live musicians and special effects. The Peking Acrobats have also been featured on several television specials including NBC’s New Year Holiday Special and The Wayne Brady Show.

You can catch the Peking Acrobats on Jan. 9, at the Clark Center for the Performing Arts at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $36 to $46. The Clark Center is at 487 Fair Oaks Ave. in Arroyo Grande. For more information, visit clarkcenter.org or call 489-9444.
